20. Jennifer Craig-Ford

Spotsylvania County School Board

In 2025, Jennifer ran for a seat on the Spotsylvania County School Board (Battlefield District) as an Independent candidate. She won a three-way race with 37% of the vote.

Jennifer Morgan Craig-Ford is an attorney, serial entrepreneur, mother of four, and elected member of the Spotsylvania County School Board, representing the Battlefield District in Virginia.

Born in northern New Jersey, Jennifer grew up in a dysfunctional family situation. Her parents largely abandoned her to the care of other people, and she moved repeatedly between New Jersey and Texas, often several times a year. When she reached high school, she insisted that wherever she started, she would stay until graduation. She graduated from Lakeland High School in New Jersey.

Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, graduating summa cum laude with departmental honors and a minor in economics. She attended New England School of Law on a full tuition merit scholarship and earned her Juris Doctor.

While attending law school, Jennifer worked for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and an insurance defense firm. She also served as a student assistant district attorney in Dedham District Court, prosecuting cases under the Massachusetts rule authorizing qualified law students to practice under supervision.

After passing the Massachusetts bar, Jennifer moved to San Diego and passed the California bar. She worked in insurance defense litigation at Tyson & Mendes before moving into personal injury work. Her legal experience also includes criminal defense.

Jennifer also completed substantial graduate coursework toward a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy at Pepperdine University. She founded a mental health practice in Spotsylvania County and expanded into medical spa services. Her business interests include developing and producing skincare products and teas for the spas, as well as participation in a holding company with ownership interests in medical spa advertising and consulting.

She began her term on the Spotsylvania County School Board in January 2026 and continues to balance public service with her legal practice and businesses.
